The Greater Saint Louis Community Foundation’s day-to-day operations are managed by a staff of eight professionals and overseen by a diverse, independent, volunteer board of leading residents.  While the work of the Foundation is straightforward in its commitment to helping area residents put charitable dollars to work, its complexity lies in the many variables that surround community change and charitable giving.

The Foundation’s capacity to manage a changing philanthropic environment and to produce results is grounded it an ongoing commitment to strengthen our existing competencies in:

  • Community Investment – making thoughtful investments in nonprofit organizations capable of addressing community issues in measurable ways.

  • Charitable Intent – understanding and articulating what “charitable giving” means so that donors can be more confident about pursing their giving objectives in ways that connect directly with community need.

  • Charitable Financial Planning – leveraging tax-efficient giving tools in creative ways to achieve charitable as well as wealth and estate planning objectives for our donors.

  • Asset Management – stewarding traditional and non-traditional assets in support of our donors’ short- and/or long-term charitable aspirations
